What Happens If You Don’t Replace Your Roof?

The function of your roof is to protect the inside from water penetration and consequent damage. Ridge advises that if your roof becomes severely damaged and you don’t perform roof repair, the damage will occur to the internal structures. Damaged roofs lead to water damage which in turn can cause damage to ceilings, walls, and in extreme situations, damage to foundations which affect the structural integrity of your house. Part of your roof may collapse, further damaging anything underneath and allowing more water to enter inside. Failure to repair the roof ultimately will lead to the whole structure collapsing. If you are trying to sell your house with a damaged roof, it will actually decrease the price of your house and you may not be able to sell your property.
